Zuckerberg Invests $15 Million in AltSchool to Facilitate Personalized Learning

Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook and his wife, Priscilla, are investing $15 million in AltSchool to help build a network of schools that use technology to offer every student a personalized learning experience.
Zuckerberg, announcing this on his Facebook page, said AltSchool students can learn what they’re most interested in and at their own pace, and teachers can track their progress using new technology and tools.
The Facebook Executive also said he is committed to supporting education and personalized learning, both at home and abroad.
In Africa, precisely Kenya, the Bridge International Academies has been added to the list of schools to benefit from the largesse, while a $120 million grant to Bay Area schools and many more, have been provided to help students study efficiently.
Bridge International Academies is a network of low-cost private schools intended for poor people in developing countries. It is currently operational in Kenya.
While looking forward to making more investments like these in the future, Zuckerberg says he believes that education, like access to the internet,  is fundamental to helping communities make progress and ensuring that everyone has equal access to opportunities.
Personalized learning is just starting to reach its potential. I’m really excited to see it become widely adopted over the next 5-10 years.”, he said.
