Sarkodie releases ‘New Guy’ featuring Ace Hood

After weeks of controversy generated by his much publicised collaboration with American rapper Ace Hood, Sarkodie has released the song, ‘New Guy’.
The song, featuring Ace Hood, was released on Tuesday exclusively on Tigo music platform, Deezer.
The song did not come cheap. Many who praised Sarkodie for the collaboration with a well-known American artiste were quick to withdraw the applause.
Sarkodie, born Michael Owusu Addo, was accused of misleading the public after Ace Hood publicly denied his claims that he had contacted him (Sarkodie) to produce the song.
Ace Hood, in a tweet, revealed that he had only agreed to go ahead with the feature after the Ghanaian rapper paid $25,000.
But Sarkodie, and some of his fans, stayed resolute. The rapper was determined to ensure agenda #NewGuy does not hit a snag.
In a rare real interview, Sarkodie downplayed the controversy over the collaboration and rather thanked the media for the publicity.
Speaking in an interview on Red Carpet show with Ibrahim Ben-Bako on Multi TV, the award winning rapper said the media attention was what he wanted.
“Big ups to the media for the support I think the hype is crazy. It is actually giving attention to the song much more and that's the idea of what I want to see. It depends on how people take it but it's nothing that serious and we are focusing on the music part of it and can't wait for the music to be out.”
Well after the controversy, the song is out and it is a real feast!
