the oil-rich city of Port Harcourt a musical experience to savour for ages as Egberi
Papa 1, Timaya , Mr. Incredible, MI and dancehall king,
Runtown engaged the students of the University of Port Harcourt in
four hours of non-stop music and dance at the debut edition of Glo Campus
Storm.
The
telecommunications giant staged the concert last Friday night at the
expansive Gymnasium Hall of the institution.
It was a time
for the students to unwind and socialise as they literally emptied in their
thousands into the hall where pulsating beats from the three music merchants
mesmerized them to no end while several others who could not make it into
the hall due to the heavy human traffic enjoyed the show from a large LED
screen provided by Globacom outside the gymnasium.
The
show was timely as the Glo Campus Storm coincided with the grand finale
of the Students' Week put together at the instance of the institution's
Students Union Government (SUG).

the school's SUG, Comrade Ephraim Ino-Anaemeje, was beside himself with
excitement as he declared that the show as the icing on the well baked cake of
the students' week.

serenading the expectant crowd of fun seekers causing the hall to explode in
ecstasy when Runtown mounted the stage. He dished hit tracks in
quick succession from his albums as his fans hopped and howled in exhilaration.
MI, took over
from Runtown and characteristically milked the excitement in the
house with his monster hit, Africa Rapper No 1, Mr. Incredible and
other hit tracks while the students sang with him word for word.
Many went as far as posting for selfies with him, using their smartphones.
Gordons, who
anchored the show interspersed the performances with hilarious jokes while
one of Nigeria's most prolific female DJs, Lambo, who was the disc jokey,
scratched and turned the buttons on the juke box for the maximum
enjoyment of the crowd. She was an instant hit with the students who wanted her
to stay longer each time she had a moment to thrill the crowd.
Timaya,
who came on as the last big act of the show, held the crowd spellbound with his
enthusiastic performance. Timaya who was on a homecoming of some
sort momentarily turned the crowd to his subjects as he led them by the
