Glo's Professor Johnbull examines students’ habit of blaming lecturers for exam failure

In its tradition of looking at social problems and proffering solutions to them, Professor Johnbull, the didactic drama Series, sponsored by Globacom, will today treat the widespread habit by students to blame their teachers when they fail exams.

These days, it is common to hear students say “I scored…” if the result is an  ‘A’ or ‘B’ but “They gave me…” when it is a  ‘D’ or an ‘E’. Therefore, the second episode of Season 2, which goes on air at 8.30 p.m. on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes, is aptly entitled "Dem Give Me" and will seek to encourage students to own up to their fault when they fail exams instead of seeking to shift the blame to their lecturers by resorting to “Dem give me” to describe their poor results.

Globacom said in a statement that, "Dem Give Me is a clarion call to all to accept responsibility for their personal mistakes and for students to stop the game of blame-shifting when they do poorly in exams. This will help our educational institutions at all levels to produce graduates that will be able to stand up to their counterparts in any part of the world, and make  holders of the certificates worthy in both learning and character".

The company said that Nollywood actor, Victor Osuagwu, would make a guest appearance in the episode and would play the role of uncle to the philandering Flash Boy (Stephen Odimgbe). The plot is woven around Flash, whose uncle, Harold (Victor Osuagwu), refuses to pay his school fees, and his result is withheld by the purblind professor and HOD, Professor Abby (Ben Nwosu), because of an outstanding fee of N25,000. Not knowing what else to do, he turns to Professor Johnbull  for help  in paying the fee.

Will Professor Johnbull oblige Flash or will someone else come to his rescue? What happens when Flash's result is eventually released? What impact will the result have on the philandering Flash? How does the Emeritus Professor Johnbull know Flash's  performance without seeing his result? Will Uncle Harold fall for Flash's pranks? Will Professor Johnbull whose housemaid, Caro, fails her home-lesson come down hard on Flash and Caro for buck passing? These are some of the questions whose answers viewers would get to know, Globacom said.

"Dem Give Me"  also features other regulars like Elizabeth (Queen Nwokoye), Caro (Mercy Johnson Okojie), Olaniyi acted by Yomi Fash-Lanso, Mai Doya (Funky Mallam), Jumoke played by Bidemi Kosoko, Etuk (Imeh Okon) Professor Johnbull (Kanayo O. Kanayo).

The repeat broadcast of the episode will come up at 8.30 p.m. on Friday on the same television stations.
