The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) Awka, Anambra State, is next to
be hit by telecoms firm, Globacom’s campus based music concert, the Glo Campus Storm. The train of top
class artistes that have been going round tertiary institutions dishing out
great entertainment and getting students stomping, will stop over at Awka’s
prime institution this Friday.
The top artistes that will file out on
stage this weekend include, Egberi papa, Timaya; African
Rapper Numero uno, MI; new sensation, Asterix and
latest kid on the block, Runtown. They will be supported by
humour merchant, Gordons with DJ Tops on
the turn table.
Globacom says that the students will
have unprecedented entertainment at the show. “It is to set off the Christmas
and end of year celebrations on a high note for the young people, ” Globacom
stated.
In the last one and a half month, six
tertiary institutions have received the Glo Campus Storm train,
each experiencing the big bang impact of top class music and standup comedy.
The fame of the show is such that other
universities around the six geopolitical zones, where the show is yet to hold,
are asking for a taste of the musical Storm.
Globacom added that anyone willing to
be at the show in Unizik, should simply load Glo Campus Booster
Data worth only N500.
During the show, five males and five
females will have the chance of winning up to N100, 000 in the “Glo Campus Dude” and “Glo Campus Diva” beauty pageant.
The ten successful contestants will
join 230 other contestants from all the institutions where the show would
have been held to compete for the star prize of N1 million in scholarships.
Other perquisites include Globacom Brand Ambassadorial contract and automatic
invitations to Globacom-organised events such as the Glo-CAF Awards, Glo Slide
'n' Bounce concert and Glo Laffta Fest comedy shows.
