The
Glo Campus Storm music concert was held at the Ugbowo campus of the University
of Benin, Edo State last Thursday, pulling a large crowd that filled the
In-door Sports Hall of the university, venue of the show.
The
students were thrilled by celebrated Nigerian artistes including the 'Dem Mama
Soldier' Timaya and Mr. Flavour, Nabania. Up and coming artistes such as
Asterix and others were also given the opportunity to show case their acts
before the mammoth crowd.
Ace
comedian Bovi, in his best element, reeled out rib-cracking jokes that made the
excited audience roaring with laughter.
Among
the major highlights of the concert were a dancing competition, beauty
pageantry, singing and comedy.
DJ Neptune provided sound beats for Asterix who opened the floor for the artistes. He performed his popular tunes 'Yapa' and 'Okpeke'.

Asterix
was closely followed by Timaya who got a resounding ovation from his fans who
had long waited for him to emerge on stage. Timaya sang his hit tracks '
Babalawo Power', 'Jehovah', 'Ogologoma', 'Shake Bom Bom', and ended with 'Won
Fe Pami'.
Flavour
wrapped up the concert with a spectacular performance, thrilling the crowd with
his signature 'waist-rolling' dance. It was indeed the Nabania night
as Flavour hit the crowd with tracks like 'Jeun Soke', 'Adanma', "Baby You
Too Fine', 'Sexy Rosie', ' Osondu Owendu' and closed the show with
'Waka Waka'.
The
"Glo Campus Data Dude" pageant which was keenly contested by 15
handsome young men produced Christopher Akin as winner, carting home N100,000
reward.
Similarly,
the Glo Campus Data Diva also contested by 15 pretty young ladies produced
Okonkwo Chidinma as winner. She also went home with N100,000 prize. Four
runners-up each in the male and female categories smiled home with N50,000
apiece.
The
next Glo Campus Storm music concert will be held at the Imo State University,
Owerri on Friday,
December 16, 2016.
