Star rapper and Glo ambassador, Jude Abaga, also
known as Mr. Incredible (MI), will make a star appearance this evening on
Globacom’s highly successful satire on prime-time television series, Professor
Johnbull.
Today’s episode will be the 13th episode of
the second series and the last in the season. It retains its traditional
broadcast position on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Channel 251
and NTA on StarTimes at 8.30 p.m. A repeat broadcast of the episode
will be aired on Friday on the same channels at8.30 p.m.
In the episode, fans will see MI in the role
of a returnee from New York City, USA. The new episode is titled
"Speak the Word" and it seeks to satirise
Nigerians who have the habit of speaking with borrowed accents.
According to Globacom, this episode is
aptly tagged 'Speak the Word' to underscore the
importance of communication and intelligibility in our society especially at a
time when many of our youths believe that until they speak in slangs and other
esoteric languages, they would not be regarded as successful.
The episode seeks to bring to the fore the importance of
clear and unambiguous speech, Globacom said. “As they sit back to watch
their darling Professor Johnbull which treats the issue of
language imitators in a more comic and equally didactic manner in 'Speak
the Word', we have no doubt that the episode will resonate with a lot of
youths who return to the country with foreign accent and incomprehensible
slangs", the company concluded.
Viewers will see the drama regulars like Kanayo
O. Kanayo (Professor Johnbull), Yomi Fash-Lanso (Olaniyi), Mercy
Johnson Okojie, acting as Caro. Others on this week’s episode are Flash
(Stephen Odimgbe), Ufoma (Bimbo Akintola), Jumoke (Bidemi Kosoko), Etuk (Imeh
Bishop), Mai Doya (Funky Mallam) and Samson acted by the Waffi boy, Ogus Baba.
Viewers will see what the essence of
communication is and whether Professor Johnbull himself is also
guilty of complex communication. They will also see what happens when
communication breaks down, and what good communication is.
