This is a challenging period for billions of people around the
world. Many businesses are stuttering, others are choking and dying. People are
giving up on their dreams. The #pandemic has even worsened the situation,
bringing on its path a season of gloom and doom. Yet, there is a silver lining
in this dark cloud. A new era of boom beckons. Opportunities hover in the horizon
for entrepreneurs to flourish as long as your vision is relevant. You all
probably know #Netflix but do you know that in Year 2000, co-owners of
Netflix, Marc Randolph and Reed Hastings, faced with the fear of
extinction, flew down to #Dallas, Texas, to literally beg #Blockbuster
executives to buy their company for $50 million? They were jeered at. At
its peak in the 2000s, Blockbuster had 9,000 stores globally and made $5.9
billion, but today, the previously acclaimed best video rental company has been
liquidated while the written off Netflix is now worth $194 billion. If only the
leaders of Blockbuster were not short-sighted and blinded by arrogance, they
would have seen the loaded value in Netflix. #Dangote had a similar experience.
He once desperately wanted #Lafarge to take over his cement business but was
scoffed at. Today, they are strong peer competitors. Tomorrow, you can be
greater than those scoffing at you today. You can overcome the financial
challenges you are facing today in spite of the daunting odds. Stay the course.
Believe in yourself. Believe in your dream. Have faith in #GOD and you shall
overcome!!!
