reaching us has it that President Jonathan has ordered the immediate re-opening
of Universities in the country. He further said that any lecturer who fails to
resume work will be sacked.

The
Federal Government on Thursday gave the Academic Staff Union of Universities,
one week ultimatum to call off the ongoing strike.
The
acting Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, stated this while briefing
journalists in Abuja.
Wike
said those who refused to report to work after the one week ultimatum among the
ASUU members would lose their jobs.
Recall
that we informed you that ASUU made some new demands and requested that the arrears of
their salaries be paid. The federal
government stopped their salaries after
the strike commenced after invoking the “no work, no pay” policy.
