National Carrier, Globacom
has added the “Bumper-to-bumper” crooner, Wande Coal to its rich repertoire of
brand ambassadors, thereby deepening its youth market penetration.
Wande Coal whose full name
is Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe was officially presented to the public at the Mike
Adenuga Towers, Headquarters of Globacom in Lagos on Tuesday.
The hip-hop artiste expressed happiness for
being signed on as a Glo Ambassador and promised to further add value to the
brand.
“A big thank you to God.
Heartfelt gratitude to Glo. It is a dream come true for me to be signed on as a
Glo Ambassador. Coming from Mushin and being so recognized by an international
brand, I promise to work hard to justify my appointment. I will portray Glo in
everything I do from now. Everything is now green,” Wande Coal enthused.
Speaking at the unveiling
ceremony, the Head of Gloworld, Mrs. Brenda Akhigbe, described Wande Coal as an
icon and a household name in entertainment who is expected to increase
Globacom’s brand equity.
“Having a robust list of
top Nigerian entertainers, movie stars and musicians as Glo Ambassadors is one
of the ways we empower the Nigerian youth and contribute to the development of
music and entertainment. We see these Ambassadors as role models who are
expected to be above board at all times.”
“Wande Coal will
complement our robust list of brand ambassadors and deepen our business
strategy of using brand ambassadors to drive our penetration into the youth
market in the Nigerian telecoms industry and other countries where we have our
footprint”, Akhigbe said.
The unveiling of Wande
Coal brings the number of Globacom brand ambassadors to twenty one, and the
list of iconic A list artistes include PSquare, D’banj, Lagbaja, MI, Flavour, Waje, Bez, Naeto C, Omawumi and Chee
to mention a few.
