DJ Khaled, Gabrielle Union, Tinashe, Fantasia, Regina Hall, Nate Parker & More Revealed As Guest Presenters

BET is amping up the volume at the BET Awards 2016 after it was revealed that Usher, Future and Bryson Tiller will join the ultra-talented line-up of performers at the 16th annual awards show on Sunday 26 June 2016. Hosted by Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross, the “BET Awards” will also include performances by previously announced artists,Alicia Keys and Maxwell.

The BETAwards premieres across Africa on BET (DStv channel 129) on Tuesday 28 June at 19:00 CAT.

Sheila E., The Roots, D’Angelo and Janelle Monae are also slated as the first artists to be part of the special celebration paying homage to the creative genius of Prince.


Guest presenters for the highly-anticipated televised event include DJ Khaled, Gabrielle Union, Tinashe, Fantasia, Regina Hall, BET’s Music Moguls”(Damon Dash, Birdman, Jermaine Dupriand Snoop Dog), Aja Naomi King, Nate Parker, Terrence J, Morris Chestnut, J.B. Smoove, Kimberly Elise, Omar Epps, the cast ofBET's “New Edition” biopic (Bryshere Y. Gray, Elijah Kelley, Luke James, Algee Smith, Keith PowersandWoody McClain) andBET’s “F in Fabulouscast (Kamie Crawford, Eny Oh, Stephon Mendoza and Savannah Lynx).

Recognising the growing international appeal of African contemporary artists, eight African artists have been honoured in the BET Awards. Leading the charge for South African music are hip hop giants AKA and CassperNyovest and dance/house legend Black Coffee, while Nigeria is represented by Wizkid (winner of the award in 2012) and Afro-pop diva, Yemi Alade.  East African sensation Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Ghana’s dancehall/R&B queen Mzveeand Cote D’Ivoire’s Coupé Decalé star Serge Beynaud round out the nominees for Africa.

In “Best New International Act” category. This year’s competition is tougher than ever, featuring talented up-and-coming artists from around the world including: Emtee (South Africa), Falz(Nigeria), MHD (France), TkayMaidza (Australia), WSTRN (UK) and SectionBoyz (UK).

The BET Awards will take place alongside the BET Experience at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles from 23-26 June 2016.
