Robin Muthami and Rit Piwuna were
crowned Mr and Miss Catholic University of Eastern Africa respectively on
October 7th 2017 at the Carnivore Simba Saloon in Nairobi.
The
jam packed event, supported by a number of sponsors was an opportunity for
students to show off their creativity in fashion and design as well showcases
their talents.
From
traditional gowns, freestyle to evening wear, models, ladies and gentlemen
flaunt their gorgeous dressings to the amazement of the fans.
Simba Saloon was so packed; part of the
audience had to stand at the back just to get a glimpse of the models.
The
race was arguably tight and after the final category was showcased, the judges
had to deliberate for close to an hour before coming out for the question and
answer section.
With
the number of contestants cut down to ten from 24 for the question and answer
question, the contestants were challenged to answering mainly based on their
school, also what winning would mean to them and how they would help the
community around them.
Most
of the fun escalated once dancers from the campus and students randomly being
called up to dance to hits from different African countries graced the stage.
Kenyan
music icon Wyre also lit up the stage with an electric performance – getting
the crowd to dance to his hits over the years.
When
all was said and done, Robin and Rita emerged the winners. Robin is a
first-year student in the Faculty of Law while Rit is a second-year student in
the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
Congratulations
to Robin and Rit!!!
