Glo Lauds Immigration Service For Striving For Excellence



Telecommunications giant, Globacom  has lauded the Nigeria Immigration Service  for striving  for excellence in the discharge of its duty of accomplishing  optimum operational efficiency and strengthening internal security.

Globacom gave the commendation at the  2017 edition of the Comptroller General of Immigration Annual Conference held at the Mitros Residences and Suites, recently  in Abeokuta,  Ogun State.

The conference was co-sponsored by Globacom and it attracted the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, his Deputy, Yetunde Onanuga, former president, Olusegun Obasanjo and the Chairman of the House Committee on Interior, Adams Jagaba, among other dignitaries.

Acting Coordinator, Public Sector Sales, Globacom, Mansur Opakunle, lauded  the service for organizing the strategic session, saying that it would no doubt help to position the service to surmount emerging challenges.

According to him, “Globacom and NIS share the same passion for excellence, which makes our partnership a perfect fit. Our pedigree as one of Africa’s biggest ICT brands stands us in good stead to offer NIS the best support in its efforts to achieve optimum efficiency and productivity”.


Opakunle added  that NIS had started  benefiting from some of the company’s cutting-edge telecommunications solutions designed to cost-effectively propel the service to the peak of its performance.

He disclosed that the company,  in its bid to  consolidate  its position as the best data network in the country, launched Mobile 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) nationwide in October 2016, adding that the incredibly fast data network is currently available in 30 states of the Federation. This,  he revealed, makes  Globacom subscribers in these states to avail themselves of  the most advanced wireless technology, offering ultra fast Internet speed of up to 100Mbps.

While encouraging participants and other Nigerians to avail themselves of this technology, Opakunle noted that they were guaranteed to have the best value for money with the newly launched set of data tariffs that delivers unmatched value to the company’s data teeming subscribers.

Said he, “Today, for N1000, our new or old subscribers who renew their subscriptions before expiration get 4GB of data. For N2000, our subscribers who renew their data bundle subscription before expiration get 9.5GB". He pledged the company’s commitment to providing necessary support to enable it realize its objectives.

The Comptroller General  of NIS, Mohammad Babandede, in his remarks said Globacom and the other corporate sponsors of the conference had assisted in facilitating a strategic brainstorming session that is guaranteed to fashion out a way to surmount the challenges confronting the service.


Babandede therefore called on  the Globacom as well as  other lovers of Nigeria to continue to support such initiatives aimed at boosting efficiency and productivity.
