Ebonyi State University gears up for Glo music concert


Biggest corporate promoter of entertainment in the country, Globacom, says arrangements have been concluded to stage the next edition of its rave music concert, Glo Campus Storm, at the Ebonyi State University (EBSU) on Friday, December 2.
In a statement released in Lagos on Thursday, the next generation network said Marvin Records artistes, Reekado Banks and Koredo Bello, as well as new hip hop sensation, Runtown, will perform at the event which promises to be as thrilling as previous GloCampus Storm shows. It will also be spiced up with a huge dose of comedy from popular humourist, Bovi Ugboma. 
According to Globacom, major highlights ofthe Ebonyi State University concert will include dancing and singing competitions, comedy, beauty pageant and musicperformances by budding artistes from the school and environs. Feelers from Abakaliki where the school is located indicate huge excitement among students, academic and non-academic staff and also entertainment lovers in the Ebonyi State capital.
Globacom added that a pageant would also be held at EBSU to select the “Glo Data Diva”and “Glo Data Dude”, with the competition producing ten winners from the school. 

“10 winners in each campus will receive up to N100,000 each, with all the 240 winners vying for the “Glo Campus Data Dude” and “Glo Campus Data Diva” coveted crowns at the grand finale. The two top winners in each category (male and female) will each win N1 million in scholarships in addition to being signed on as Globacom Brand Ambassadors. They will also get special invitations to all Globacom-organized events and shows such as the Glo-CAF Awards, Glo Laffta Fest and Glo Slide 'n' Bounce concerts," the company explained.
Globacom urged students wishing to attend the concert to recharge their Glo lines with just N500 campus data plan in order to qualifyfor admission into the venue.

The concert has already been held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, the University of Port Harcourt, the Enugu campus of University of Nigeria; Federal Polytechnic, Nekede;  University of Uyo, University of Nigeria, Nsukka; and Abia State University, Uturu.
