UK-based Ghanaian Afrobeats star wins first Grammys


Fuse ODG has made history by becoming the first Ghanaian to ever win a Grammy award.

UK-based Ghanaian Afrobeats Fuse ODG has made history by becoming the first Ghanaian to ever win a Grammy award.


Fuse, who is known in real life as Nana Richard Abiona, technically co-won the "Best Pop Vocal Album" award at the 60th award ceremony held on Sunday, January 28 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The award was won by UK's Ed Sheeran for his album "Divide".

Fuse ODG was credited for co-writing a song on the album. Fuse is known for co-writing his hit song "Bibia Be Ye Yie" -- a song record in Ghana in 2017 and produced by Killbeatz.


Upon hearing the news, Fuse ODG tweeted: "Faackin ell...man's a Grammy Award Winning Songwriter now. Thanks Ed for coming to Ghana lol..what an honour!!"
