43 Universities In US Want Nigerian Students To Study In Their Institutions

Public Affairs Officer, Education USA, Mr Russell Brooks says America is ready to support Nigeria in its effort to develop its human capital.

Tertiary Institutions in the United States seem to have special interests in Nigerian students as they always make efforts to have them in their schools.

According to Punch about 43 US universities that participated in the 19th Annual Education USA College Fair at Magodo, Lagos are encouraging Nigerian students to study in the United States.
This is coming after the American Embassy on Tuesday, September 25 Nigerian students studying in the country, the US embassy encouraged more Nigerian students to enrol in the U.S. higher education institutions programme.
The Public Affairs Officer, EducationUSA, Mr Russell Brooks also reiterated the interest of American Universities in Nigerian students at the College Fair when he said the United States is ready to support Nigeria in its effort to develop the huge potential of its economy and of its human capital. Her said, “Schooling in the US would enhance mutual understanding, that is people to people exchanges which are an important component of strengthening our relations with the global community.

“It will also provide options for graduates. Nigerians will benefit from studying in the United States.  A degree from a US college or university leads to additional schooling or jobs.  International students may seek practical training through the Curriculum Practical training and the Optional Practical Training.
''Also, all this is to promote educational variety because the U.S. has more than 4,500 accredited institutions and offers everything from two-year associate degrees to four-year bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees.”

US University offers direct admission to Nigerian students

Recall that in July 2018, a tertiary educational institution in America, Dayton University, announced its readiness to give Nigerian students direct admission with just West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) results.
The institution which believes Nigerian students are academically brilliant said it's ready to attract them to the institution through incentives including scholarships.
According to Guardian, the Dayton University Management after visiting Nigeria to evaluate the curriculum at both university and secondary level said that Nigerian students would be exempted from additional entrance examinations such as SAT, GRE, GMAT or British A-level system.
