Mechanical Engineering student wins Nokia N100,000


A 400 level Mechanical Engineering student from the University of Ilorin, Jibola Bakare has joined the list of winners in the on-going Nokia Danfo Reloaded Competition as he received
a cheque of N100,000 for having the highest score in the third round of the Nokia Danfo Reloaded Competition.

Speaking at a brief prize presentation held at Nokia’s office, on Wednesday August 29, Planning and Analytics Manager, FikayoAremu, thanked the customers for taking their time to participate in the competition.“This is one way Nokia is encouraging the development of local apps within the region, also driving more traffic to the Nokia store and of course a way of rewarding our customers in Nigeria,” he said.
Bakare who was excited about his cash prize said he heard about the competition on the radio and decided to play. According to him, he has been playing since the first week but got lucky on Sunday, August 26 at about 11:55pm when he was able to finally beat other high scores. He said he was so happy about winning that he couldn’t wait to be called for his prize.

Danfo Reloaded is a locally developed mobile phone game that can be played on the Nokia Asha 200, 201, 303 or 302 phones. “Danfo” is a common slang for commercial buses in Lagos. In the game Danfo Reloaded, the player plays as a “Danfo driver”, earns money as he proceeds and at the end of one week, the players with the two highest scores win N100, 000 from Nokia.

The competition which is to run for five weeks is already in its 3rdweek. Players are to upload their scores on the Nokia Facebook page; www.facebook.com/NokiaNigeria for their scores to count.
