‘Covenant is Nigeria’s Best Private Varsity’

The Covenant University (CU), Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State, has again been ranked the best private university in Nigeria.
The rating is in the July 2012 edition of the World Universities’ Web Ranking of universities across the world.
Of the 10 Nigerian Universities ranked among the top 100 in Africa, CU was the only private university that made the list.
Others among the top 100 African higher institutions are the Auchi Polytechnic; the University of Ibadan (UI); University of Ilorin (UNILORIN); University of Lagos (UNILAG); University of Nigeria, Nuskka (UNN); Ahmadu Bello University (ABU); Zaria; Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife; and the University of Jos (UNIJOS).
The methodology used in the ranking, conducted by the largest public research body in Spain, the Cyber metrics Laboratory, considered the volume of contents published on the university’s web domains as indexed by Google, the External in-links that the university’s web domain receives from third parties, the number of rich files (pdf, doc, dox, ppt) by Google scholar and the academic papers published in high impact international journals.
