Happy Birthday to Funke Akindele aka Jenifa

Akindele Olufunke Ayotunde (popularly known as Funke Akindele, born August 24, 1976 in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria) is a Nigerian actress. In 2009 she won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

Akindele worked in television before switching to cinema, becoming known for her starring role in the family-oriented Nigerian television show I Need to Know. Akindele's qualifications include an OND in Mass Communication from the Ogun State Polytechnic and a law degree from the University of Lagos.

After acting in over 50 major films over a 10 year period, Funke Akindele shot to international mega-stardom with the blockbuster movie 'JENIFA' and has not looked back since that time. Funke has since the 'JENIFA' phenomenon gone on to win many laurels and awards in recognition of her body of work in developing the movie industry in Nigeria.

Funke Akindele recently proved why she is the hottest actress in Nigeria right now with the release of her new mega blockbuster album titled OMO GHETTO.
