On Saturday, August 26, 2012 all road in entertainment industry led to
Port Harcourt, Rivers State where the winners of 2012 edition of popular Future
Awards which was hosted by Rives state government were announced. The ceremony
honored by top showbiz personalities, had its stage set ablaze by Port Harcourt
Chief, singer and actress Muma Gee, Bez, Chindinma, Nene, Timi Dakolo and many
others.
However, few showbiz stars smiled home with awards from different
categories and one of them is top music producer, singer and CEO of Mavin Records,
Don Jazzy who got the very prestigious honour as Entrepreneur of the Year. The
music maker no doubt merited this award as he is one of the frontline producers
in Nigeria, who has grown beyond mixing beats and lyrics to understanding the
business side of music industry.
Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh equally grabbed
a very respectable reward for all her professional role interpretations.
Amongst other actresses who were nominated in the category of Best Actress of
the Year, Ms. Dikeh defeated them all and became Future Awards Best Actress of
the Year.
Hip hop star singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun otherwise known as Wizkid also bagged Musician of The Year. Other winners include, Denrele Edun who turned On
Air Personality (OAP) of the Year after 5th nominations from past
Future Awards while Best Use of Technology awards was given to Babafemi
Oyediran.
