The first ever Nigerian Entertainment conference which held on
Friday, April 26th at the Eko Hotel and Suites was attended by
hundreds of the top industry players.
Other than the very interesting sessions which covered the areas
of music, movies, business, media and CSR, the inaugural conference ended with
some of Nigeria’s most notable entertainment practitioners receiving NET
honours (Honorary awards).
A total number of nineteen awards were given to select numbers
of honourees who have performed very well in their respective fields. They
included veteran music producer, Nelson Brown, Afro beat legend, Femi Kuti and
African pop icon, 2Face Idibia.
Others include Nightshift Coliseum creator, Ken Caleb-Olumese,
Juju legend, King Sunny Ade, godfather of Nigerian comedy, Ali Baba, Fuji icon,
K1, revered movie makers, Amaka Igwe and Tunde Kelani, distinguished
publishers, Kunle Bakare, Mayor Akinpelu and Femi Akintunde Johnson, music
superstars, Dbanj and Don Jazzy, showbiz practitioner, Edi Lawani, renowned
music label and media bosses, Kenny Ogungbe and Dayo Adeneye as well as
Nigeria’s number one DJ, DJ Jimmy Jatt.
Notable faces at the conference include Coson boss, Tony
Okoroji, CEO Megalectrics, Chris Ubosi, Darey Art Alade, Zeb Ejiro, Charles
Novia, Ibinabo Fiberesima, GM Consumer Marketing, Kola Oyeyemi, Nse Ikpe Etim,
Kunle Afolayan, Steve Babaeko, Sound Sultan, M.I, Weird MC among many others.
