MI, Omawunmi, Lynxxx, Bez, Waje and Naeto C
GLOBACOM, Africa’s fastest growing telecom company seems to be making good the promise the company made recently when her new corporate slogan “Unlimited” was unveiled few months back. The company stated that it is committed to making dreams of young Nigerians and Africans at large come to reality through their robust network and value added services (the network started the per second billing in Nigeria on their GSM platform). The telecom giant further confirms its position when they announced the new set of brand ambassadors which comprises of young and vibrant Nigerian artistes which is more of a paradigm shift from the regular Nollywood actors which they used to romance in the past.

It was gathered that their decision to sign-on musicians was formed due to the artistes’ ability to relate to the heart of Nigerian youths with their music. The new artistes signed by the telecom company are: Waje, Omawunmi, Lynxx, MI, Chidynma, Naeto C, Lagbaja, Bez, and Flavour.

Since the announcement was made, it has been an excitement galore for all the new signee and many couldn’t contain their joy and happiness of ‘Porting’ to the GLO network.
Excited Burna Boy was the first to let the cat out of the bag when he took to the social network, Twitter to announce his new deal.  ‘New glo deal sweeter Dan a bxxxh!!!!! ‘, the Port Harcourt born singer said.

Waje says, “I’m absolutely honoured. Glo is one of the fastest growing mobile service providers in the world, so it’s a brand that represents positive evolution. And that just reflects me….”

MI who also doubles as one of the GLO X-Factor judges stated that, “I feel blessed to be given the opportunity to do all these things. It’s been one blessing after another and I really don’t take anything for granted.”

Fast rising Alternative music artiste, Bez has this to say, “It feels great! I see Glo as avant-garde brand, which is actually how I see myself, as far as music is concerned. Glo is a brand that thinks outside the box. And so being a Glo brand ambassador feels natural to me, very organic. It’s the perfect synergy”.

Though an official statement wasn’t made regarding how much each artiste will be taking home, but speculations has it that GLO usually pays between N10m to N25m per annum depending on how big the artistes are.

The new signee will be joining the dynamic duo of P-Square who is already enjoying the ambassadorship of GLOBACOM.

However, GLO have over the years been heavy on investment in indigenous ambassadors. In past times they’ve relied heavily on the stars from the movie industry, Nollywood, signing up an admirable team of them. Chioma Chukwuka, Funke Akindele, Ramsey Nouah, Odunlade Adekola, Monalisa Chinda, and Nonso Diobe and hosts of others once glowed green with pride and smiled with GLO as their communication brand.
GLO an organization known to be at the fore front of supporting Nigerian youth and the music industry in the past through their various activations are also out to make ordinary Nigerian youth become celebrities through the GLO X-Factor; which is the biggest music reality show in Africa.
