Talented
and beautiful singer Habida launched
her latest video titled “Lights Up”
which was shot by the fast rising Nigerian video director, Mattmax at an invites-only event hosted at Aqua Blue Lounge in Nairobi. The song showcases Habida in a different role of a diva
far from the demure role she has played in other music videos like “Sunshine” and “Girls Night Out”. She said the song was written for her father who
loves "an upbeat song".
The launch was attended by the who-is-who in the music industry.
"The reason for this night is to thank everyone who got me
where I am today," Habida said,
"My Reason” featuring Canibal
was my second biggest song after “Sunshine”
which by the way is Habida in collaboration with Nameless…”
Habida’s
latest video “Light Up” was shot on
location in Lagos, Nigeria by the highly creative Matthew Abiodu Aina popularly known as Mattmax. The video which debuted on MTV base few days ago is fast gaining
heavy rotation and it has added another feather to Mattmax’s cap. The video director in recent times has shot many top
videos such as D’banj’s “Don’t Tell Me
Nonsense”, Olamide’s “Voice of The Street” and “Stupid Love”, Danny Young, “Omo Lepa”, Donna Diva “Gaga”, KaySwitch “For Example (ka
Ni Pe)”, etc.
According
to MAGiKAL Entertainment CEO, Abiodun Caston-Dada , “we are so
delighted that within a short period of time, Mattmax is fast gaining international recognition, and all we could
say for now is for people to watch out for more creative videos from him because
his best is yet to come…”, he stated.
“Light Up” is produced by top Nigerian music producer, Tee-Y Mix.
