Mo'Cheddah who's been totally off the radar with her music career
recently dropped a single ‘Destinambari’, collaborating with rap star Phyno
on the song. The song is currently enjoying massive airplay. She duly follows up the single’s release with a Clarence Peters
directed video flick which features Phyno and a cameo appearance
by Big Brother’s Uti Nwachukwu.
Shot entirely at the Oko Filling in Ota,
Nigeria, the video is a great piece of art and creativity.
Mo’Cheddah was having a growing career
before parting ways with her old record label, Knighthouse to start off her own
imprint, Mo”Cheddah Music and her career nosedived.
She held a lot of promises
in the Nigerian music industry in 2010. She released her debut album ''Franchise Celebrity '' with 2 hit singles ‘Koma Roll’ &
‘If You Want Me’, bagged an MTV Award for BEST NEW ACT & Channel O Music Award. She was
arguably the biggest female artiste in
Nigeria at that time.
She later released two lack-lustre
singles ‘Louder’ and ‘ Coming For You’ ft May D after her exit from
Knighthouse. We hoping she’s back for good with this hot new single.
However, the new single ‘Destinambari’
which is a sample of Bollywood 1976 hit movie soundtrack ‘Dus Numbri (10)’ was
produced by Cobhams. The Indian movie starred one of Bolywood star actress Hema
malini alongside other top stars such as Manoj
Kumar, Pran,Premnath, Bindu, Kamini
Kaushal and Om
Shivpuri. It was directed and produced by Madan
Mohla.
