Ten of Nigeria’s
biggest names in Fashion have signed up for the maiden edition of the
Fayrouz L’Original Expression show.

Kunbi and Kinabuti will be leading a team of top fashion influencers,
designers, stylists and celebrity photographers like Omoyemi Akerele, Adebayo
Oke-Lawal, Gozel Green, Kate Williams, Nobel Afrik, Martha Warebi and Micheal
Imomoh to present the biggest fashion competition ever witnessed in Nigeria.
These celebrated
fashion influencers have over the years created a niche for Nigerian fashion
will be mentoring young aspiring fashion lovers at the L’Original competition.
These creative minds
will come together to select the best style team for the Fayrouz L’Original
competition while mentoring them.
Art director for the competition, Omoyemi Akerele who is the creative director and
founder of Style House is known for nurturing, promoting and
developing the fashion industry for years now. She was also one of the brains
behind the establishment of Lagos Fashion and Design Week and has been listed
as one of the 500 most influential people in fashion in the Business of
Fashion.
Grand finale judge and mentor Ohimai Atafo, who likes
to be called “The fashion artist” is the brain behind the lifestyle
brand, Mai Atafo Inspired. Mai has been featured in several shows across the globe
including the J Spring Fashion Show, Paris, Glitz African Fashion Week, Ghana,
Arise Magazine Fashion Week and Lagos Fashion and Design Week both in Lagos to
mention a few.

Second grand finale judge and mentor, Olakunbi Oyelese, brainchild of April by Kunbi has styled various celebrities like
Agbani Darego, Genevieve Nnaji, Millen Magese, Toke Makinwa, Seyi Shay, Tiwa
Savage, Oreka Godis, M’ocheddah and Monalisa Chinda, to mention a few. She also
took home the Rising Icon award in recognition of its giant and pacesetting
strides in the fashion scene at the just concluded 2013 edition of Music meets
Runway.
Grand finale judge and mentor, Kinabuti, whose fashion
label has been donned by many notable personalities due to its unique and trend
setting designs. The brand, though having been in full operation for just over
three years, has gained wide popularity and visibility with a huge social
following largely due to its many community initiatives and CSR activities:

Regional judge, Adebayo Oke-Lawal, founder of fast rising label, Orange Culture is a stylist, designer, writer and
journalist. He has worked with magazines like 234next, WOW, FAB magazine,
Ynaija and 360nobs. He has also participated in shows like Arise Magazine
Fashion week and Music meets runway, while his designs have been rocked by the
likes of Tiwa Savage, M’ocheddah, Makida Moka and Ice Prince.
Kate Williams, also a regional judge is the CEO of the fashion brand, Vttoire,
formally known as Pegwell Hill received many awards and gained
international success at events like The University of East London and
Ravensbourne Graduate Fashion week, 2009 in London, Lagos Fashion and Design
Week 2011 and British Council International Fashion Showcase 2012, London.

Enekwe, owners of label, Gozel Green focus
on three major streams; Artistry, Originality, Timelessness. Sometimes with the
weirdest mix of vibrant/rusty colors, textures and lines, a signature look is
constructed with the utmost finesse, catering to needs of clients by creating
outfits that suit their individual lifestyles and personalities.
Consultant and Mentor, Prince Idowu Akanni Oyefusi, owner of Nobel Afrik is the past National President of the fashion
Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN) and has built a brand that can speak
for itself without question (NOBEL AFRIK). Nobel Afrik has showcased his
brand everywhere you can ever imagine, London, America, Paris, Amsterdam,
Budapest and has trained various students as Cutters, Pattern maker,
Dressmakers to become fast growing house hold names in Nigeria and beyond.
Catwalk choreographer, Warebi Martha is a household name in the Nigerian
entertainment industry. Warebi has graced the cover of Maria Claire magazine,
true love fashion page, Edgars TVC, Cosmopolitan, Joburg style magazine, David
Tlale fashion show, Fashion week in New York, Fashion week in Milan, Paris,
Ghana, Guinea, China, Hong Kong, Dallas, Miami, etc. Warebi Martha was also one
of the consultants at the Nigeria Miss Universe to Mexico during the Miss
universe pageant in 2007.
As the CEO of Catwalk Productions (CP), Warebi Martha is walking
epitome of beauty, talent, creative ability and finesse.
Official photographer for the competition, Michael Imomoh has worked for big brands like Gulder
Ultimate Search, Heineken, MTV Base, Zain, Celebrite Modelling Agency, Swatch
and a host of others. Michael Imomoh has also worked on so many modelling
portfolios and is a strong advocate for different projects that will promote
photography professionally in Nigeria.
Registration for the
competition, which kicked off on Monday, March 29th, has received thousands of
entries since its announcement as young designers, photographers, models,
stylists around different Nigerian universities are using the opportunity to
show their true sense of style and originality.
The Fayrouz L’Original
Expression show will discover and promote different teams of four
creative minds which consists of a FashionDesigner, Make-Up Artiste,
Photographer and a Model. These teams will create original designs to win the
sum of $20,000 as well as many fashion opportunities of a lifetime.
