The battle to bag the title of the first
Naija Street Champ gets tougher as Christian Olamide (Da Kris) representing
Agege/Ogba zone is evicted from Naija Street Champ competition. DaKris
was evicted after having emerged as the finalist with the lowest votes for
their first studio tracks which was released online.
Christian
Olamide (Da Kris) was one of the 3 contestants who emerged at the Agege
Audition of Naija Street Champ where he represented Agege/Ogba Zone. He fascinated
the audience with his original and creative lyrics which led him to qualify for
the 2nd stage.
At
the 2nd stage of the competition DaKris mesmerized the audience as
well as Terry G, D’Tunes and ID Cabasa who are partner producers of Naija Street
Champ. His creative delivery led him to qualify for the 3rd stage
where he joined the 5 other finalists to record a studio track produced by ID
Cabasa which was released to the public online to vote for their best
contestant unanimously.
The
street rap genius following the eviction has ended his journey on Naija Street
Champ at the 3rd stage of the competition. Da Kris’ studio track
received the least number of votes with 33 votes which made 4.93% of the
overall votes.
According
to the Project Manager, Oladehinde Fajana the votes were a combination of the
online and SMS votes. 10% of the online votes were used with 90% of the SMS
votes to make a total of 100%. “The votes emerged from both the SMS and Online
platforms giving every contestant a wide opportunity to qualify for the final
stage.
Speaking
on DaKris eviction he said, “Dakris was one of the strong contestants in Naija
Street Champ but our 6 finalists are very competitive and we are happy that we
have been able to discover and groom them to this stage with the help of our
partner producers Terry G, ID Cabasa and D’Tunes such that they will be strong
contenders in the Nigerian Music Industry”.
