Before he left the shores of Nigeria to pursue his academic
career in Malaysia, Sunkanmi Ogunade’s modeling and acting career was already
on the rise. Having starred in major modeling jobs for top brands such as Globacom,
Chivita, Vitafoam, Maltonic, 5Alive, Milo among many others. The former Olabisi
Onabanjo University student is sure having a ball in Malaysia where he is
currently furthering his education as he is fast becoming one of the
most-sought-after black models in the Asian country. Since his arrival in the
country some two years ago, he has done top modeling jobs such as Astro (a
Cable TV company), Maxis telecom (Malaysia biggest telecom company), Xiang
Fashion House, Panasonic (Olympic campaign) among many others.
Earlier this year, he was selected for Panasonic Air
Condition Global TV Commercial and was signed to a year contract as the
commercial would be aired in six other countries which include Malaysia,
Thailand, China, Philippines, UAE and South Africa.
The job came after months of endless castings and huge
physical demands. The commercial was basically for the new PANASONIC advanced
energy saving ECONAVI AIR CONDITIONER.
The 30seconds commercial is currently gaining massive
Airplay on local TV stations in ASIA and other countries.
On his acting career,
Sunky as he is fondly calls by friends is currently in a popular TV drama in
Nigeria, 2 Sides of A Coin, where he is playing
the role of Jimi Benson- BJ, a young aspiring artiste and the son of Doctor
Benson. The sitcom is currently airing on popular TV stations across Nigeria.
He was a Mass
Communication student at the Olabisi Onabanjo University before his departure
but currently studying Business Information at the University of East London, Malaysia.
