Empire Season 2 “20 Million” Times Crazier Than Season 1!

It's hard to imagine how Empire could get even crazier, but if you ask series breakout star Jussie Smollett (Jamal), that's exactly what's going to happen in Season 2.

When E! caught up with Jussie on the BET red carpet, he dished that the sophomore season of the breakout hit is like Season 1 "times 20 million." Wow, that's a high bar — talk about exciting!

"I keep joking that we make Season 1 look like The Brady Bunch," Jussie added. "It's a lot. It's going there, for sure."

So, what exactly does that mean? Well, when Terrence Howard spoke to ET at the BET awards he spilled that Season 2 is where we find out what turned Lucious Lyon into who he is, and that he's going to “clean up some messes" from the first season.

It sounds like we're in for a lot of excitement in Season 2, so it's a good thing that it comes jam-packed with extra episodes! That's right — instead of the dozen-episode order we got for Season 1, Empire Season 2 will feature 18 episodes — and it returns in the fall, not the winter!

So, get ready guys… it sounds like this year is going to be a wild ride.

Terrence Howard On What to Expect From Lucious in 'Empire' Season Two: 'He's Going to Clean Up Some Messes'

Lucious Lyon's last line from Empire season one is keeping us on edge as we anxiously await the second season of the hit Fox series. ET caught up with Terrence Howard, who plays Lucious, at the 2015 BET Awards to find out what fans can expect when the show returns on September 23.
Howard, who won the award for Best Actor on Sunday, teased, "This second season, we're going to find out what turned Lucious into who he is, and he's going to clean up some messes that were left in the last episode."
That last episode had Lucious sitting in a jail cell, so the drama is definitely far from over.
Mark your calendars: Empire Season 2 premieres on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 9 p.m. ET on FOX.
