NESCAFE GET STARTED TOUR 2015 (PHOTOS)

After a successful run in 2014, the Nescafé Get Started Tour is back and restyled for 2015 to help African youth turn their dreams for a better Africa into a reality.
From 21 April to 9 June 2015, the Nescafé Get Started Tour truck travelled across Ivory Coast, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, and Cameroon to collect the dreams of young people: dreams of starting their own success stories and of making a positive impact on their community and on the continent as a whole.

This year, Nescafé  was amplified the Get Started Tour with digital support and a mobile campaign to exceed the impressive figure of more than 10,000 dreams collected last year. Young starters registered and submitted dreams in the areas of environment, technology, culture or health and vote for the best dream on the Get Started Africa website.

A mentorship programme was included in the 2015 edition of the Get Started Tour.
“This year's ‘Get Started’ is about creating a deeper connection with the youth and inspiring them,” said Roman Irrure, Business Executive Manager of Nescafé  at Nestlé Central and West Africa. “It’s not just about dreaming, but making dreams more concrete and powerful.”

With the help of influencers from various West African countries, the programme will support young entrepreneurs through funding and coaching. It will also foster their entrepreneurial spirit and encourage peer networking.

The Nescafé team and a group of popular and influential West African bloggers and entrepreneurs will select four finalists based on relevance and public vote. The finalists will be provided with mentoring sessions via Google Hangout before they present their dreams to a jury. The winner will receive financial support to “Get Started” on his dream.

Last year’s winner, Muazu Adamu, a 21 year-old-student from Nigeria, won $20,000 towards implementing his dream of lighting up Africa by boosting power produced from power generators.

Let’s get started with positive stories from African innovative and passionate minds.
