Glo-sponsored “Dance with Peter” audition holds in Benin Friday (Sept 4)




The next audition of the dance reality show, Dance with Peter, being sponsored by Nigeria’s Integrated Telecom operator, Globacom, will hold in Edo State capital, Benin City, today.
“Dance With Peter,” is a 13-week dancing competition organized by the sensational African dance prodigy, Peter Okoye, the twin brother and partner in the multiple award-winning musical group, P-Square.
Dancers from all over Nigeria and Ghana will compete for the grand prize of a brand new Toyota RAV 4, N3 million and an opportunity to feature in P-Square’s next music video.
The first and second runners-up of the dance competition will go home with a brand new Honda Civic car with N2 million and a brand new Kia Rio car with N1 million respectively. Both of them will also have the chance to feature in a top Glo Ambassador’s music videos.
The Abuja leg of the auditions was held on Friday 28 of August, 2015, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, where six finalists were selected. The audition train then moved to Accra, Ghana where another six finalists were selected.
Today, dancers from Benin City and environs will gather at the Oba Akenzua Cultural Centre, Airport Road, to slug it out for the six tickets up for grabs from the region.
The audition train will then move to Bamako Studios, 1 Bamako Street, Ojodu, Lagos on Tuesday, September 8, when the best six dancers from the South West will be selected.
The final audition for “Dance with Peter” will be held in Port Harcourt on September 10 at the Atrium Event Centre, Stadium Road.

The finalists from the various regions will then be pitched against each other in a fierce supremacy battle that will last weeks and be beamed to Nigerians via their televisions.

The competition is open to individuals from all dance backgrounds, either performing solo or as a group. Those who want to participate in the show can register by sending ‘DANCE’ to the short code 55517 in Nigeria.

Registration costs N100 for Nigeria and 0.5GHc for Ghana. Prospective candidates who send the SMS to the short code will be requested to send their details such as name and location at no extra charge. All successful registrations will get a confirmatory SMS with instructions on what to do next.
“It is going to be the biggest reality TV show in recent time, with huge benefits for the participants in the competition, entertainment lovers and television viewers generally. Dance with Peter is in line with our commitment to keep on delighting our teeming subscribers and adding value to their lives, economically and socially,” Globacom said in a statement.
