Lawal Maimuna Omobolanle, and ND1 Local Government and Development Studies of Ibadan
Polytechnic have won the second edition of the Miss Awelewa beauty competition
in Ogun State.
The beauty pageant which started last year is organized by
Ogun State based celebrity magazine, Ijebu News Xtra magazine.
Miss Awelewa beauty pageant according to the coordinator, Baa’royin
Dayo Rufai was conceived to take the rich cultural and social life in the
Gateway state to the zenith via fashion display, cooking competition, lectures
and seminars on sex education and show of talents among youths.
The grand finale which was held at the Banquet hall, Equity
Resort Hotel, Ijebu Ode also produced Miss Oluwatosin Bello, a 200 level
Law student of Obafemi Awolowo University as the 1st Runner-up and Gbeminiyi
Shofolu, while Opeyemi Mariam and Ashiru Kikelomo Omolabake
won Miss Photogenic and Most Stylish contestant respectively.
Otunba Adewale Osinubi, the Chief Executive Officer, Wesco Pools and Lottery Ltd,
one the major sponsors of the pageant anchored the prizes and award
presentation.
