Glo's Dance With Peter: Kelvin is Africa's dance king

HAIL THE DANCE KING: Twenty-four year old Kelvin Ayanruoh falls on his knees in joy after he was declared winner of Globacom-sponsored reality TV show, Dance with Peter, in Lagos on Saturday night. Behind him is his mentor and show judge, Don Flexx.

As Glo-sponsored Dance with Peter came to an end on Saturday, twenty-four-year old Kelvin Ayanruoh, an indigene of Delta State, emerged   winner of  the dance TV reality show.
Kelvin came tops  at the grand finale of the show held  at the Bamako Studios, Ojodu, Lagos, having beaten  his closest challengers, Mali Hot Boy, and  Ghanaian Julius Fakta to second and third places respectively to clinch  the coveted crown of best dancer in West Africa. Amazing Amy won in the fourth place while Da Octopus came fifth.
With this development, Kelvin has won  Globacom’s top prize of a Toyota Rav 4 SUV and N3million cash with an opportunity of featuring in P-Square’s next music video.  Mali Hot Boy, won a Honda Civic car and N2million, while Julius Fakta won a Kia Rio car and N1million cash prize.  Kelvin who says his philosophy in life is “respect all and fear none” seems to be inching closer to his dream of being a top international choreographer with this much-sought victory which is also remarkable, given that he started out as a member of a dance group called Elevators NG. Kelvin was singled out at the audition stage by the judges who noticed his dexterity and encouraged him to progress to the next stage as a solo performer. He has justified the confidence reposed in him by the judges by winning the competition.
Other dancers who made it through the elimination stages to the grand finale were Amazing Amy, Da Octopus, G-Xtreem and C-Fly. They were voted fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh respectively by followers of the show.
The dance reality show was launched in August by Globacom in partnership with Peter Okoye, the twin brother and partner in musical group, P-Square. The company said  its decision to sponsor the show was based on  the need to promote the dance culture among Africans and support those who may want to go into the dance profession to discover their potential.
Glo ambassador and  music star, Dapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj, was  guest judge on the show where he  performed along with Peter Okoye to the delight of the audience.
The grand finale of the show will be beamed on African Independent Television (AIT)  at 5.p.m. on Sunday and on MTV Base on Wednesday at  8 p.m. In the same vein, viewers in Ghana will be privileged to  watch the package on TV3 Ghana at 3.30 p.m. on Sunday, and Benin Republic ORTV on Sunday at 6pm
