OAU lecturer dies in tragic accident



She directed many plays for the stage and the mass media and also acted in many stage and film productions. 

A lecturer at Obafemi Awolowo University has lost her life in a tragic automobile accident on December 26.
Prof. Foluke Ogunleye died on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway while on her way to  Lagos state.
The deceased was once the Head, Department of Dramatic Art, OAU and was said to have spent over three decades as a lecturer in the university.
Punch reported that Ogunleye was the elder sister of Mr. Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Mr. Abiodun Olanrewaju,  Public Relations officer at the University, confirmed her passing, saying,  “Prof. Foluke Ogunleye died on December 26, on her way to Lagos. She was one of the icons which the Department of Dramatic Art and the nation rely on. The university will sorely miss her.
The news of Ogunleye’s death came less than two months after a former Provost, College of Health Sciences, OAU, Prof. Solomon Ogunniyi, was found dead inside his office.
