Olamide – Rules 2015

Sitting On The Throne

2015 is indeed a great year for Nigeria’s King of Rap (Did I hear, BLASPHEMY? Lol. You can call him that at least for 2015). From churning out great street bangers such as Bobo, Melo Melo, Lagos Boys, etc  to capping it with the release of his fifth studio album, Eyan Mayweather which clocked #1 spot on iTunes. He also featured in countless collabos (Harrysong – Reggae Blues, Masterkraft - Indomi, Pepenazzi - Ilegal, Davideo – The Money, Reminisce – Local Rappers, Ycee – Jagaban, the list is endless), most of which becomes hit songs.

Don’t Stop which is off his new album, Eyan Mayweather is gently finding its way into the streets and clubs and will surely be another street banger.

2015 also saw Olamide dropping the much anticipated collabo album 2Kings with his musical ally, Phyno

Olamide’s 2015 awards include: City People Rap Artiste of the Year, Nigerian Entertainment Awards Best Rap Act and he was recently voted MTV base Nigeria’s Artiste of the Year

He was one of the African artistes that featured in this year’s Coke Studio Africa season 3.
The YBNL Nation had a successful UK tour in October with an electrifying performance from Olamide.

His YBNL soldiers too are also doing great with Adekunle Gold (Orente) and Lil Kesh (Gbese) dropping hit songs in 2015.

Olamide’s working ethics is phenomenon. Churning out singles and videos every other month is no little feat. And his approach to music marketing is surely paying off for him. So why changing the winning formula?

Olamide rounded off 2015 with the 2nd edition of his mega musical concert Olamide Live In Concert, OLIC on December 27. An event which sold out at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Olamide’s Eyan Mayweather is currently in stores and can be bought on iTunes.
