The crew that will comprise of Mavin Records head Don Jazzy, Dr Sid and Korede Bello will jet in for a two day (April 21 and 22, 2016) workshop that will feature top Zimbabwean musicians and producers.
"The whole idea behind this workshop is to enable these successful Nigerian brothers to share the knowledge they have with our local creatives," said Kenako Music gaffer, who is also one of the organisers, Dr. Gwaze at a media briefing on Wednesday morning.
"We chose Don Jazzy because he has the knowledge not only of a producer and artist but also knows the business side of doing things.
"It is the latter part which many local creative are missing. To be successful it takes more than just talent and therefore it is important to have people like Don Jazzy come through and tell us the secrets to their success.
"Locally we have the talent but the challenge has always been on monetizing the gift and not just being popular" he revealed.
On what criteria will be used to select those who will attend, Dr. Gwaze said, "Unfortunately we cannot open it up for everyone because of the logistics involved, so we will be inviting the key players in the industry but also not neglecting the little known folks."
The Mavins will arrive in the country on April 21 and depart on April 26.
"We will not only host workshops with the Nigerian crew but will also host a welcome party at Club 1+1, a corporate dinner and also a party with the team”.
"We have partnered with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) and The Mavins will be flown to Victoria Falls during their visit," revealed another representative of the organising team.
This workshop is being facilitated by Jide Agbeniyi led BrandMe Consultancy in partnership with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and ZTA.
