University Of Ghana Officially Opens Main Entrance

The University of Ghana has opened the main entrance (opposite the Legon Police Station), to members of the University community. The entrance, which has been under reconstruction for the past few years, was formally opened from 8.30 a.m. on Monday, 18th April, 2016, after a short ceremony.
The official opening was done by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Ernest Aryitey in the presence of other senior staff of the University including the Registrar.
The general public is to take note that this gate is designated as a private access route for only private vehicles that have valid electronic access control cards.
For the avoidance of doubt, no commercial vehicles, trucks and other heavy vehicles will be allowed access through this private access road, even if they carry valid electronic access control cards.
However, the Okponglo entrance to the University will continue to be an unrestricted access route open to the general public, accessible to private and commercial vehicles in line with the University’s safety and security guidelines.
