Glo’s Professor Johnbull highlights sharp practices in oil sector

Glo-sponsored  Professor Johnbull this week  deals with the nagging issue of sharp practices in the country’s oil industry.
Considering  the current economic challenges prevalent in  Nigeria owing to  dwindling revenues from the  oil sector, the episode titled "Oil Windfall" brings to the fore the consequences of over-reliance  on oil as the country’s sole foreign exchange earner.
Executive producer of the TV drama series, Globacom, explained in a statement that “Oil Windfall” will also bring to public consciousness the way of life among youths in  oil producing areas in relation to heavy reliance on the natural resource."
Said the network, "the discovery of oil in the country in the early 1960s was no doubt a good development which has led to the growth of the nation's economy. But over the years, events and situations have come to show that over-dependence on oil also has its own attendant effects."

According to the telecommunications giant,  "the essence of Oil Windfall, the 5th episode of Season 2 of Professor Johnbull, is to educate the public on the negative effects of over-dependence on oil by any economy. We hope it will help in educating our viewers that there are other potential natural resources other than oil that we can tap into for our existence".
The episode fuses humour into the serious national issue by  featuring Oguns Baba (Samson), who plays a major role in the enumeration of the predominant literary theme.
Viewers will watch him deliver his lines perfectly with his well  accentuated  "Waffi" slang. The drama will equally do an expose` on the real essence of oil windfall.  Is Samson innately fraudulent or simply over-ambitious? How does  Professor Johnbull respond  to the agitations of the victims?
The episode will, as usual, feature top rated Nollywood star, Kanayo O. Kanayo (Professor Johnbull), and other regular faces on the show including Yomi Fash-Lanso (Olaniyi); Imeh Bishop (Etuk);  Stephen Odimgbe (Flash); Bimbo Akintola (Ufoma); Mercy Johnson Okojie (Caro);   Queen Nwokoye (Elizabeth); Funky Mallam (Mai Doya) and MC 4 God (Abednego).

“Oil Windfall”, is the fifth episode in  Season Two and will be broadcast at 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes while repeat broadcasts will come up on  Fridaysame time and on  same television channels.
