Last show of 2016 Glo Campus Storm holds in IMSU


The intensely popular student-oriented concert, Glo Campus Storm, sponsored and organised by leading telecoms data company, Globacom, will come to a grand closure for the year 2016, this weekend at the Imo State University, Owerri (IMSU).

The concert which began on October 14, 2016 had run through nine other institutions including the University of Port Harcourt, where it kicked off; the Enugu campus of University of Nigeria and the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede. Other schools that have hosted the 2016 season of the concert are, University of Uyo, University of Nigeria, Nsukka Campus; Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki; Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and Abia State University, Uturu; and the most recent activation held at the University of Benin.

Announcing the closure  of the 10-week concert through a press statement released in Lagos on Thursday, Globacom said that the last lap of the flagship show, takes place at the Imo State University, IMSU, Owerri, this Friday and

“…we are delighted that we have been able to put smiles on the faces of tens of thousands of our youths in tertiary institutions across the country who enjoyed the show in 2016. We have provided them with world-class entertainment and empowered them financially too through the Glo Campus Data Dude and the Glo Campus Data Diva contests."


Globacom explained that the feedback it received across the schools where the show had taken place this year has been encouraging, while assuring other institutions which are yet to take their turn that they should expect a bumper package in the oming year.  “We in the company feel fulfilled with the receptions the show received in all the institutions where the 2016 edition held.”  The statement concluded. 


The show at IMSU will feature top shot music stars, Reekado Banks and Korede Bello who both belong to the Marvin Records label. They will be joined by the dancehall master, Runtown, to entertain the students, while the prolific comedian, 2CanTalk will anchor the show with DJ XGee supplying music from the jukebox.

The event will also feature  a beauty pageant to select a Glo Campus Data Dude and a Glo Campus Data Diva. In the competition, ten  students will win up to N100,000 each and the opportunity of joining 230 others to vie for the grand prize of N1million worth in scholarship. The final winners will become Glo Brand Ambassadors and get invitations to attend Globacom's A-list events such as the Glo-CAF Awards, the Glo Slide 'n' Bounce concert and the Glo Laffta Fest comedy show.


The company urged students and members of the university community willing to attend the show to recharge their lines with N500 worth of Glo Campus Data Booster.
