Flavour, Korede, others Set UNN on Fire at Glo Campus Storm

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka joined the tertiary institutions in the country that have experienced the sublime funtainment show sponsored by Globacom, the Glo Campus Storm on Friday.

The show practically held the University campus spellbound as megastars Flavour, Korede Bello and Runtown serenaded the students and members of the university community with popular pulsating music that got attendees to dance the night away.

Excited "lions and lionesses" as students of UNN are fondly called thronged the Ekpo Convention Centre, located  at the heart of the university community, to savour the show, emceed by the merchant of jokes, Gordons.

Ten lucky students of the school who emerged as the Glo Campus Data Dude and the Glo Campus Data Diva won cash prizes ranging from N50,000 to N100,00. They also have the chance of winning a scholarship worth N1million at the grand finale of the contest.

With DJ Neptune on the wheel of steel, dishing out incessant delightful tunes, the UNN edition of the Glo Campus Storm was one show the university community will remember for a long time to come.

The classic show kicked off with a dancing competition which brought out the manifest skills of the students. At the end of the competition, Ibekwe Chinedu, a 200 level student of Political Science came first.  He was followed by Ugochukwu Victoria of the Department of Theatre arts, while the third position went to Chubuike David Ejiofor, a year one student of Agric Economics. The intriguing dance steps of Otubo Vivian Uche of the Department of English Language, earned her great applause from the crowd.

This was closely followed by the  performances of upcoming artistes on the campus. The artistes included Kelwizz, Kris Jay, Mareez, Wills, Mandy, Chido Keys, Sinopizi and Zee Rawkpokpo, who all received standing ovation from attendees.

The event climaxed when the contestants for the Glo Campus Data Dude and the Glo Campus Data Diva climbed the stage for their choreography.  Their performances impressed the crowd in no small measure.

The first act of the night was Marvin Record protégée, Korede Bello, who dazed the crowed with his rendition of his hit tracks such as Ada Ada, Mongo Park, Everybody Come Close, Baby Romantic, ending with God Win.  Korede was so impressed by the response of the crowd that he ensured that a few of them who got on the stage to cheer him 'got alert" from him as he doled out cash gifts to them.

The entrance of Runtown, with his 'show me the receipt' track threw the crowd into a frenzy. Runtown went on to render other hit tracks like Lagos to Kampala, E Don Hamma, Walahi, De Boi and Bend Down Pause.

The 'Nabania' exponent, Flavour, who headlined the show with his live band performance proved that he was a master entertainer. He showed the crowd the showbiz in him as he moved from the Professor Johnbull  soundtrack, 'Erudite Professor'  to his Waka waka satiric songs of waywardness, to Adama, exhibiting his sexy dance steps.

At the end of the beauty pageant, Eneboa Valentine was crowned Glo Campus Data Dude with a cash prize of N100, 000 and Ifediora Chimdindu was crowned Glo Campus Data Diva also with the same cash prize. Eight other students, comprising four boys and four girls, also won N50, 000 each.

."
