How It Went Down At The Comedy Central Grab The Mic Audition In Port Harcourt Over The Weekend

The Comedy Central Grab The Mic Talent Search train was in Port Harcourt over the weekend, in search of Nigeria’s next comedy superstar. The auditions held on Saturday, October 21, at the Presidential Hotel, Port Harcourt.

Hundreds of budding comedians turned out to present their best comedic materials to the judges and a live audience. The panel of judges made up of Ace Comedian Ali Baba, Wazobia FM OAP, Akasbaba and Bukwild, a Port-Harcourt-based Artiste, had a tough time trimming down the numbers, as there were several sterling performances.

Commenting, Ali Baba stated that the comedic materials presented by the contestants were impressive.

“This is a testament to the fact that Nigeria is home to a great pool of amazing comedy talents who are set to explore the endless possibilities that the Comedy Central Grab The Mic platform presents and take the industry to another dimension”.

Some notable personalities such as Chike, The Voice Nigeria 2016, First Runner Up, and Comedian, Gordons were present at the event. Comedian Gordons thrilled the audience with a surprise performance.

Following the Lagos and Port Harcourt auditions, the nationwide talent search will be rounded off with the Jos audition, on 28 October 2017, at the Silk Lounge.  Winners from each region will be placed in the final showdown in Lagos, where the Grab The Mic champion will emerge.
