Paradise Music Festival & Awards 2017: Strengthening the cord of unity between Cross River and Akwa Ibom states

Paradise Music Festival & Awards remains the foremost and only event which celebrates ingenuity in music in this part of Nigeria.
The 2017 edition of the 4 year old award is tagged 'AkwaCross Edition'. Meaning it is open to entries from Akwa Ibom State, a state carved out from Old Cross River State. (For the records, Paradise Music Awards was conceived as Cross River Music Awards, South Central Communication, the progenitors rebranded it in the second edition to produce a music festival and award ceremony every one can identify with, hence the new name).
Yes, the two states may be separated politically, but very connected, the traditions are similar, the cultures, language, food and more .
The organisers of Paradise Music Festival & Awards have thought it wise to celebrate the binding cord linking the two states through music, by also rewarding musicians from both states.

The award winners are selected through public votes in a brotherly contest to prepare the talents to take on future challenges in their career.
In previous editions, Effiom then in his capacity as Performing Musician Association of Nigeria Chairman in Cross River State, the award ceremony was preceded by a workshop discussing topics on Pursuing A Career In The Music/Entertainment Industry, also creating a forum for practitioners from both states to network and mentor.
This year, the seeds of the Effiom Trombone led team has not gone unnoticed, as the Cross River State government, in the benevolence of Governor Ben Ayade adopted Paradise Music Festival & Awards into the 2017 Calabar Festival calendar.
Telecom giant Airtel is also leading other corporate sponsors to throw their weight behind the 5 star event holding in Nigeria's number one tourism destination, setting the tone for a lineup of events which will run through the month building up to Carnival Calabar - the biggest street party in Africa. The theme of the Carnival Calabar this year being 'Migration ' , Cross River State is inviting the world to its shores.
