NYSC DG says the management is still working to ensure Federal Government increases corps members allowance.

Following the alleged increment in corps members allowance which the NYSC described as a rumour, the scheme has promised to prioritize the corps members welfare.

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-General Suleiman Kazaure made the promise in Ibadan on Thursday, August 9, 2018.
The DG said the NYSC management is working tirelessly to ensure that the Federal Government increases the allowances of corps members.

He said, ''We are not unmindful of the cost of goods and services in the country when placed side by side with the present allowance of the members
“We are not relenting as the scheme has made representations to the government through relevant agencies,” a statement issued in Ibadan by the Oyo State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs Ifeoma Anidobi, quoted him as saying during a visit to the NYSC orientation camp at Iseyin''

NYSC bans corps members from travelling without permission

Meanwhile, the management of the National Youth Service Corps has warned and banned corps members from travelling out of their place of primary assignment and orientation camps without permission from authorities.
Kazaure, warned the youths on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, while addressing new corps members at Ekiti State Permanent Orientation Camp.
Kazaure reportedly said he was on a visit to educate corps members on dangers associated with playing with their health and security.
While advising the corps members in Ekiti, Kazaure asked the youths to join hands with him to avoid a repeat of the tragic incident in which nine corps members drowned in Taraba state.
