Manchester United have reportedly rejected a
proposal to swap Paul Pogba for Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar, According
to Talksport.com.
Pobga faces an uncertain future with the Reds
and rumours persist about a move away from Old Trafford.
Real Madrid appears to be the France World Cup
winner’s preferred destination with Juventus and PSG also understood to be
keen.
Neymar is facing an equally uncertain future
with the Ligue 1 side and there have been suggestions about a move back to
Barcelona.
President Nasser Al-Khelaifi appeared to open
the door for his exit by saying PSG only want those willing to show ‘total
membership of our project’.
The Independent report that PSG had raised the
possibility of a direct swap of the two players.
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, though,
is understood to have been put off the idea.
One reason is the cost of the deal, which
would be too high even for a club with the resources of Manchester United.
Neymar’s wages of around £900,000 a week would
prove a problem.
Woodward is also thought to be keen on keeping
hold Pogba, having spent a then world record fee of £89.3million for him in
2016.
