The inspirational stories of protagonists of the
last three editions of African Voices Changemakers will
be recapped in this weekend’s edition of the CNN magazine programme sponsored
by national telecom operator, Globacom. The edition is called the Compilation
show.
The three social change agents, Crystal
Chigbu, Seyi Oluyole, and Bilikiss Adebiyi Abiola, were featured earlier
as part of outstanding personalities from across the continent who
are leading revolutionary changes in different spheres of endeavour.
Chigbu has made remarkable impact on
the lives of many amputees by providing them artificial
limbs through her Irede Foundation. Similarly, the Compilation show
will also feature the story of 27-year-old Seyi Oluyole whose Dream Catchers makes
use of dance and choreography to positively change
the condition of street kids and indigent youths. The two women are
part of a community of change agents who have displayed altruism and enviable
passion for children.
Finally on the show will be WeCylers founder,
Bilikiss Adebiyi Abiola. Her unique project of offering incentives for refuse
collection which has got many residents of Lagos excited to recycle their
waste will be highlighted. WeCyclers has more than 80 employees who use
tricycles to gather waste from homes across the city for recycling. The
waste-to-wealth creation drive has contributed to the protection of Nigeria’s
ecosystem.
