The
Federal Capital City, Abuja quaked with excitement and fun on Sunday evening when top Nigerian entertainers
and comedians serenaded residents who thronged the Ladi Kwali Hall, Sheraton
Hotel, venue of the grand finale of the biggest concert in the country this
year, the Glo Slide &
Bounce.
It
was a literal take over of night life in Abuja as the Hall was bursting at the
seam with the cream of the society from all walks of life including top
government officials, business tycoons and thousands of youths in
attendance.
Some
of the dignitaries at the concert include Mr. Tony Ojobo, Director of Public
Affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission, Prince Emmanuel Jeminiwa, Acting
Director, National Lottery and Regulatory Commission, Mr. Osita Chidoka, Corp
Marshall of the Federal Road Safety Commission, and Mr. Abiodun Hundeyin,
Assistant Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Services.
Iconic stars who are Glo ambassadors such as Omawumi, Bez,
Chee, Lagbaja, Burna Boy, Naeto C, MI, PSquare and Flavour belted out
delightful songs to keep the attendees on their feet, dancing throughout the
eight-hour show. It was described as memorable and highly entertaining by
a cross section of the audience. They chorused along with the artistes,
danced to the rhythm of the pulsating sounds, and enjoyed lots of hot jokes
from the masters of ceremony Basketmouth, Okey Bakassi and Jimmy de hype.
More intriguing is the performance of the sensational twins, PSuare, who gave a
superlative "traditional twins competition" as they took time to play
all the musical instruments and asked the audience to judge who was the best
entertainer.
The
comedians seasoned the show with their witty jokes and tutorials. The Abuja Glo Slide & Bounceconcert
marked the end of the eight city musical concert organized by Globacom to
reward loyal subscribers for their unflagging support to the brand in the last
ten years.
It would be recalled that the concert kicked off nine
weeks ago in the Federal Capital Territory, but due to popular demand by the
residents who missed the first edition held at the Thisday Dome, the
telecommunications outfit brought the show back to Abuja to satisfy their
desires.
