First N5m lucky winner emerges
A Secretary for 25 years in the Palace of Enojie of Ekpoma,
Julius Okomayi, was among the first set of lucky winners in the ongoing Glo
“Recharge to Stardom” promo who collected their prizes on
Saturday night during the Glo Slide & Bounce concert held at the
Oriental Hotels, Lagos.
He won N1million while a businessman in Port Harcourt, Mr.
Simeon Anyanwu became the second N1million winner.
But the cynosure of all eyes at the event was a young
communications engineer, Timothy Asianya who collected N5million cheque.
He emerged the highest prize winner in the first public presentation of
the Glo 10th anniversary promo where the luckiest subscriber will go home with
the grand prize of N25m.
Twenty five other lucky subscribers were presented with N25,000
each while cash prizes of N10,000 were presented to another twenty five lucky
subscribers.
The winners who were full of gratitude to Glo for organising a
special promo for subscribers on its 10thanniversary said that it
was “great joy” being a subscriber on the Glo network.
Speaking at the prize presentation to winners before a mammoth
crowd during the Glo Slide and Bounce concert held at Oriental Hotel in Lagos,
the winners said the prizes will have a positive impact on their lives.
Asianya who stated that he simply continued to recharge his
phone before winning the N5million prize expressed his absolute confidence in
the transparency of Glo promos as he had seen and interacted with winners in
previous promos.
“I am overjoyed, happy and thankful to Glo. My Mum found it
unbelievable that I won but I had no doubt in my mind because I had seen and
interacted with the winner of a Toyota Venza in a previous Glo promo”, he said.
The story of Pa Julius Okomayin, the pensioner and former palace
secretary, was touching and it demonstrated that age or location cannot prevent
anyone from winning in the promo.
“I have been using Glo for the past 10 years and I always
replace my line every time I lose it. I never knew I could win this kind of
money. I pray that Glo will continue to grow so they can create more
opportunities for more people in Nigeria”, he said.

included the Lagos state Commissioner for Transport, Comrade Kayode Opeifa, Edo
state Commissioner for Information, Hon. Louis Odion, the Lagos state
