This year’s
Valentine season and beyond will be an exciting one for telecommunication
subscribers as national telecom operator, Globacom, will be giving away a N5
million star prize, consolation prizes worth millions of naira and an
opportunity for lucky subscribers to sing a duet with their favorite Glo
ambassadors.
Globacom
unveiled this exciting list of rewards on Friday as it announced the launch of
a new promo, Say it Loud – Say it with Love. The promo will
run on an Interactive Voice Response platform. Interested Globacom subscribers
will be required to dial a short code, 54887 to record and upload their 45-second song, poem or a joke for
N50 on the portal. The subscriber will then receive an SMS with his individual
ID number (54888xxxxx).
The promo is
targeted at helping aspiring musicians live their dreams by giving the
top three contenders an opportunity to do a duet of their entries with their
favorite Glo ambassadors.
Mr. Viswanath
Nagasai, Globacom’s Head of Value added Service (VAS) said in a statement that
“ten other lucky Nigerians will have their songs on Globacom’s Caller Ring Back
Tune, giving them an opportunity to earn revenue from every chosen song
downloaded by subscribers as their Caller-Ring-Back-Tune.”
Subscribers
can vote for any participant in by dialing 54888, listen to the song, poem or
joke and vote for the content at the cost of N20 per vote, Nagasai explained.
Globacom is
blessed with the best musical artistes across West Africa as its ambassadors
all of whom have huge fan base. Among the ambassadors are Paul and Peter Okoye
popularly called P-Square, Sammie Okposo, Chukie Edozien also known as Lynxx,
Omawumi Megbele fondly called Oma wonder, MTV Base award winning Oyebanjo
Oladapo Daniel also called D’Banj, Urban highlife crooner, Chinedu Okolie (Flavor),
Bisade Ologunde (Lagbaja), Waje Iruobe, Ego Ogbaro, Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe
(Wande Coal), Naeto Chikwe (Naeto C), Chidinma Okebalam (Chee) and Damini Ogulu
(Burna Boy).
Glo
Ambassadors from outside Nigeria include Kwabena Kwabena ( George Adu), Irene Logan,
Edem, Asem, Sherifa Gunu, Gyedu-Bla Ambolley all from Ghana and Zeynab Abibou
from Benin Republic.
Nagasai
explained that it will cost only N50 to upload each song, poem or joke per
minute on the IVR portal. In addition to the marquee prizes, there will also be
N2,500 prizes in airtime every 36 hours, 200 daily prizes of N25,000, N1m
weekly prizes in fourteen weeks and three monthly prizes of N2.5m.
Voters are
not left out in the promo as two random voters will be picked as winners hourly
while one singer will be picked as winner every day. The highest weekly and
monthly votes will be rewarded.
Viswanath
encouraged Nigerians to subscribe to the Globacom network and enjoy the goodies
it has to offer. He urged subscribers to dial 54887 on their Glo network to
record and upload their entries on the portal. A short message will be sent
with an ID number that will be shared with friends who will vote for the entry.
Globacom has
always been in the fore-front of rewarding its loyal subscribers, he added.
