One of the lucky winners, Francis Oshin in an interview said he initially thought it was a ploy by fraudsters when he was called. He said he angrily threatened to place ‘Ijebu curse’ on anyone who called his line on the issue again.

According to him, it was particularly unbelievable to him because the process of entering for the promo was ‘too simple’. He said he recalled dialing *200#  to get on the Glo Overload Reloaded platform so he could enjoy the bonus advertised in the media and was just loading his phone normally as he used to do.

He said since he did not remember doing anything spectacular to enter for the promotion, he found it difficult to believe when a Globacom official called to tell him he won N1 million naira in a promo.

The Glo Overload Reloaded promo is billed to produce 80 more millionaires in the weeks ahead. Apart from the chance of winning N1 million naira, subscribers also get instant bonus of 400 percent of the value of their airtime recharge of N200 and above.

For instance, a subscriber who recharges with N200 will get a total value of N1000 automatically. Any airtime recharge of N500 will automatically give the subscriber a total of N2,500; N1000 will give N5000; N2000 will give N10,000; and N5000 will give a whopping N25,000 value.

Also, under the promo, data subscribers get 4.5GB of data for data plan subscription or renewal of N2,500, an offer Globacom officials called unprecedented in the country. In addition, the company said billions of naira worth of free airtime and data will be given out in the course of the promotion.

The company said that subscribers will be able to use their main credit to call any network at any time of the day and the bonus airtime for Glo to Glo calls and SMS between 10pm and 8am, depending on the validity period of the recharge denomination, ranging from three to twenty days.

Another winner, Okolo Otulupe, a policeman said apart from giving him N1million, Globacom had also given him one of the best moments of his life by publicly celebrating him together with other winners. He said the prize money would go in sending his children to higher institutions as well as providing for the comfort of his family.

Also speaking on the promo, Mr. Joel Nwanze said over N30 million naira worth of gifts will be given out as consolation prizes in the course of the promotion. These include modems, Nokia Lumia Smartphones, LED TV, HP Dual core Laptops, iPad Air and iPhone 6 devices, he said.

To get on the Glo Overload Reloaded platform, subscribers are requested to dial *200# on their phones just once. They will consequently be admitted to the promo platform and be able to enjoy all the promised benefits.
