Most Empowering Telecoms brand, Globacom has extended its succouring hand to Batch ‘A’ members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) posted to Lagos State who were treated to an evening of fun and entertainment on Friday evening.

The party which marked the beginning of the 2015 Batch ‘A’ service year was used by the corps members at the Orientation Camp located at Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos to get to know each other better.

The palpably excited corps members thronged the venue of the party, taking selfies and posing with Glo ambassadors at the party which began at 7 p.m. and ended at 10pm when the camp closed.

Welcoming guests to the party, Globacom’s Business Director, Kunle Akanmu said that Globacom was delighted to be part of the corps members’ orientation camp activities and that the party was aimed at celebrating the beginning of their service year which it believed, would be successful and rewarding.

“As the 2015 NYSC Batch ‘A’ service year begins, we urge you to be good ambassadors of your various institutions and brace yourselves up for the challenges ahead. At Globacom, we believe that the youth are the future leaders of this great nation, and we are optimistic that, with the training you have received in your schools, you will make the nation proud in your various places of primary assignment,” Akanmu said.

Glo Ambassador and Nigeria’s biggest comedy export, Basketmouth anchored the event, unleashing rib-cracking jokes in his usual characteristic manner, and had the guests roaring with laughter. Hip hop super star, Wande Coal was also on ground to thrill the guests. He expectedly put up an exhilarating performance to make the evening a memorable one.

Corps members competed for prizes in a dancing contest. The dancers took the center stage as they tried to outclass one another. The energy and dexterity with which they danced spurred the audience to clap and cheer. Jesse Akinwande won the first prize, a Samsung Ace 4 handset plus 2,000 Glo airtime Chioma Charles was runner up, while Chibueze Udechukwu was second runner-up.

Befii Taekor a corp member at the event thanked Globacom for the party. “It was really thoughtful of Globacom to have such an event at the Orientation Camp. It created an opportunity for bonding of corps members, especially at the beginning of camp activities,” she enthused.
