Glo Laffta Fest Rocks Benin

Benin City was set aglow on August 30 as some of Nigeria’s best comedians strut their stuff at the Best Western Hotel, GRA Benin City, venue of the popular comedy show organized by Globacom, Laffta Fest.
Talented humour merchants, Gordons, I go Save, Sim Card, Osama, Youngest Landlord, D Don, MC Casino, and Funny Bones as well as popular musicians MI and Burna Boy unleashed their wit and talent on an excited audience gathered from all walks of life for an evening of fun.
It was the first in a series of Laffta Fest shows planned to hold across Nigeria in the next few weeks.
In his opening remarks, Globacom’s National Sales Coordinator, Mid-West, Augustus Offor, thanked the people of Benin for their faith in Glo, and underscored the importance of the primal city to the history of Nigeria.
“Globacom is delighted to have the first in the series of the show in Benin City. Indeed, Benin plays an important role in the history of Nigeria, that is why we are bringing the Glo Laffta Fest, Slide ‘n’Bounce music concert and Dance withPeter reality TV show to you here in Benin City,” said  Offor.

Some of the high points of the night was the performance of accomplished rapper, MI, whose entry on stage sent the auditorium wild with excitement. He performed his hit songs including OneNaira, a duet with Waje.
Bovi was also in his best elements. He engaged the audience with interactive and rib-cracking jokes. Members of the audience who were selected to take part in jokes competition went home with mouth-watering gifts.
Some of the members of the audience expressed satisfaction with the show. Stanley Agbokume, a student of the Benson Idahosa University said: “I was one of the first set of guests who arrived the venue. I’ve been looking forward to attending this show and I must tell you, I really had fun. The jokes were quite entertaining and I just wished it will never end.”
